5 Tips

to picking the perfect photographer!!

So you are looking for the perfect photographer! There are so many photographers these days and you are stuck on picking the perfect one. These 5 tips will help you in the process of picking the one who will meet your expectations!

  1. DO YOUR RESEARCH! What do you want photographed?! This is the most important questions. Most photographers have special niches they shoot and styles. Some photographers just do newborns, some just do weddings or even specialize in births. Some do a few special areas rather than one specific area, this is okay too. BUT, you want a photographer that is specialized in the area of interest! You want someone who knows that area and is comfortable in that area. You want someone who loves this area and can provide you with a beautiful work of art.

Look at the photographers style. This includes the colors, process, lighting etc. Pick someone who represents your own style.

  2. HIRE A PROFESSIONAL! Look at their websites and social media. We all know someone who “takes pictures” but there is a fine line between taking a good photo vs someone who is skilled and trained. Looking at their websites and reading reviews and credentials provides consistency and skills. REAL PHOTOGRAPHERS HAVE WEBSITES. Reviews provide feedback from past clients

  3. LOOK AT INVESTENT, but don’t let this be your determining factor! Prices of photographers range all over the place cheaper is not always better!! It is tempting to find someone who charges less but often prices reflect lack of skills and experience. You are investing in memories and moments that only happen once. They should be captured perfectly and preserved for a lifetime. Professional photographers charge what they are worth and what is required to run a business. You don’t have to break the bank but willing to invest in a fair amount that guarantees you the best results!

  4. Look into the photographers CHARACTER AND PERSONALITY! When you are at your shoot and your viewing, you should be comfortable and happy. You want someone who is personable and fun. This helps so much especially during the shoot. You don’t want your emotions to negatively affect your shoot and show in your images.

**GET TO KNOW YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER! SET UP CONSULTATIONS AND MAKE PHONE CALLS!

  5. Make sure POLICIES AND CONTRACTS are in place from the start. This is not just for the photographer but for the clients. Policies and contracts are in place to set the expectations of both parties and guide the client in the processes from scheduling to the delivery of products. Also included are timelines, weather changes, to shoot specifics.
