Oklahoma Wedding Photographer: Styled Shoot

I had this idea! at the start of 2020… to do so many styled shoots. WELL… all the unexpected things happened and kind of slowed things down for the entire world to be honest. But you know what… I was able to do 2 shoots and they were a blast. I have started my 2021 list for styled shoots and hope to do several. They are just so fun. Everyone involved is able to be creative and use their own sense of style to create a magical set! Why do a styled shoot?! Well everyone pitches in and they be as creative as can be. This allows them to create something that they have been dreaming or just haven’t been asked to create. They are able to showcase their stunning work and provide more art for clients. The environment is stress free and oh so much fun!

After doing my first ever styled shoot this last Spring, I knew I wanted more and wanted to do another one but really go all out before the end of the year! The idea I had started just with an inspiration board on Pinterest! After lots of thinking and ideas I finally was able to set a date and contact a wonderful event planner friend. Brandy Wheatley (Owner of Blue Chalk Events LLC) is an outstanding planner and I knew after working with her on my last shoot she could make this one EPIC!! I sent her all my inspirations and goals and she contacted a dream team of vendors! Brandy created, contacted and set everything up with ease! She absolutely was amazing to work with as well as all the following vendors. She had dreamy vendors!!!

Theme of this styled shoot ended up being names Till Death Do us Part! This was a moody Wedding styled shoot based around Halloween inspired décor. I had seen some posts on Pinterest while looking for another styled shoot that I was wanting to do when out of town. They were actually full blown Halloween Styled Shoots, makeup and all. I loved this idea but wanted to lean more towards moody but dark. As you have probably seen my style is more true color and bright!

Merrick Hollow in Wellston, Oklahoma was the perfect spot. At first I wanted another woodsy location but then I was introduced to Merrick!! OMG this place has my country girl heart. It is very classy but in the middle of beautiful trees. The building it’s self makes you feel like you are in a tree house! The courtyard is stunning!
