10 Questions you should be asking you Senior Photographer

1. What is your turnaround time?

This is important to know and understand. You want a reasonable turn around time and to have your images before your fun graduation party.

2. How do you deliver images?

There are many ways to deliver images. Most popular is through an online gallery but also in person delivery is fun and easier especially when ordering products. I encourage in person especially when ordering prints and products because I can assist in selecting images, decorating your wall and the most important we can create your announcement cards together.

3. How many outfit changes do you get with your session package?

Some photographers limit your outfits. It is very important to capture your style and personality in many ways. Ask your photographer and discuss your ideas so you can make sure you get a happy amount of outfit choices.

4. How many locations do we get with your session package?

If you want a variety of images, location options are important. Discuss with you photographer what styles, looks and things interest you.

5. How long is a senior session?

Average session sessions are 1-2 hours. Make sure you will have enough time to get all your outfits and location choices and not feel rushed.

6. Can you order prints and albums directly from photographer?

Find you if your photographer offers and handles tangible products. Tangible products includes, prints, album and wall art. Digitals are only good for social media so having access to tangible products is super important when want to preserve memories, display them and share with parents, grandparents and friends. If you want to print through a third party make sure you understand copy right agreement and print quality. Photographers take pride in their products and want you to have the best quality images.

7. What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens! Make sure you know and understand your photographers cancellation policy as well as refunds. These are typically all in your contract, make sure you read it!

8. Do you offer retouching services?

Most photographers have a general edit and retouching process. Any additional retouching, corrective services are additional. Discuss what is included.

9. Is there a deposit fee and when is it due?

Make sure you know exactly what you are paying for and when. Deposits, session fees and etc may be different between photographers. Understand what you are paying and then the refund policy as well.

10. Can you describe your style?

Before scheduling, make sure you photographer matches your personal style. Take time to research styles and pick photographers that match you!
